Gurdwara Shri Nirmohgarh Sahib, Fatehpur Bunga
This sacred site is located in the village of Fatehpur Bunga in the district of Rupnagar, under the jurisdiction of Tehsil Anandpur Sahib. After the battle of Lohgarh, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, responding to repeated pleas and false oaths from the hill chieftains, left the fort of Anandpur Sahib and arrived at this location to rest.
One day, during an ongoing congregation, the hill chieftains launched an attack on GURU SAHIB using a cannon. In this assault, GURU SAHIB’s devoted servant, Bhai Ram Singh Ji, was martyred. When the enemy prepared to fire another cannonball, GURU SAHIB quickly shot an arrow from his bow, killing the cannon operator. This forced the hill chieftains to retreat in defeat once again.
The Raja of Basali, who was a devout follower of GURU SAHIB, requested GURU SAHIB to cross the Sutlej River and come to his kingdom. The Raja also negotiated with the other hill chieftains, convincing them not to object if GURU SAHIB entered his territory. The chieftains agreed and promised not to attack. However, as soon as GURU SAHIB and his forces began crossing the Sutlej, the hill chieftains once again betrayed their word and launched another attack.
