Gurudwara Shri Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib

GURUDWARA SHRI DARBAR SAHIB KARTARPUR SAHIB is situated in Village Shakargarh, Distt Narowal, Punjab, Pakistan. SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI after his missionary udasis settled here. While living here GURU SAHIB did farming for 18 years (rest of his life). Here SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI gave principles of "Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Wand Shako". Which means one should earn his livelihood by honest way and hard work. One should Devote his time for God and One should share with needy as per requirements. GURU SAHIB wrote ASA DI WAR, REHRAAS SAHIB and many more paath here. Bhai Lehna Ji served GURU SAHIB for seven years and was blessed with GURDADDI here. After Gurgaddi he became SRI GURU ANGAD DEV JI and went to Khadoor Sahib on SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI'S instruction. When SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI left for heavenly aboad, there was conflict between Sikh/Hindus and Muslim followers. Muslims insisted that he was their Muslim Peer so his body should be buried according to Muslim rituals and Sikh/Hindus were insisting on doing cremation according to Hindu/Sikh rituals. When this conflict grew a wise man came and asked the reason. Then he said let us perform a Ardas and ask GURU SAHIB for help. After ardas when covering sheet was removed from GURU SAHIB's body, there were flowers lying. On wise man's advice they divided flowers in two parts. Muslim buried those flowers and Sikh/Hindus cremated flowers. Both the memorials exist next to each other. This Gurudwara Sahib is only four km from GURUDWARA SHRI DERA BABA NANAK, DERA BABA NANAK, INDIA. In 2019 Pakistan Govt opened a special corridor for Indian Sangat who can come and have darshan without any Visa requirement.
