Gurdwara Shri Manji Sahib Patshahi Chhevin, Ghulal
This sacred place is located in the village of Ghulal in District Ludhiana. The Master of Miri and Piri, SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI, stayed at this site. Guru Sahib stopped here while traveling from the Battle of Gurusar Maharaj towards Shri Kiratpur Sahib. At that time, the village did not yet exist.
When Guru Sahib inquired about the difficulties faced by the people in the area, the nearby devotees told him that a lion frequently came here and caused great harm. They requested Guru Sahib to relieve them from this threat. Upon hearing their plea, Guru Sahib hunted and killed the lion.
In 1966, when a neem tree was cut in the courtyard of a house in this village, a lion’s cage was discovered inside the tree. Earlier, in 1965, while ploughing the land, a Manji Sahib (a sacred platform or cot) emerged from the earth. After this miraculous event, the construction of the Gurdwara Sahib was undertaken at this place.
