Gurudwara Shri Manji Sahib, Lohsimbli

Gurdwara Shri Manji Sahib, Lohsimbli

This sacred site is located in the village of Lohsimbli, District Patiala. SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI sanctified this place with his holy presence. Before him, SHRI GURU TEGBAHADUR SAHIB JI also came here while traveling from Nanheri. GURU SAHIB set up a langar (community kitchen) here by heating iron, and the name of the village was changed from Nosimbli to Lohsimbli. At one time, a merchant was passing by with his mules loaded with goods. A fierce storm and strong winds began to blow. The merchant prayed before Guru Gobind Singh Ji, seeking protection. Hearing his plea, GURU SAHIB protected him. Out of gratitude, the merchant offered a cot (charpai) as a donation. GURU SAHIB instructed his Singhs to take this cot further along. However, the local caretakers (priests) said it would be of no use ahead. GURU SAHIB replied, “If it is of no use ahead, then it will not be of any use here either.” GURU SAHIB’s words proved true—the cot has never been fully used to this day. Its length keeps increasing and decreasing mysteriously. This cot is still present and displayed at the site.
