Gurudwara Shri Imli Sahib, Indore

 

GURUDWARA SHRI IMLI SAHIB is situated in Indore City of Madhya Pradesh. SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI came here while on hi second udasi from south India. GURU SAHIB came here from Omkareshwar and sat under Imli Tree (Tamarindus indica). In those days Idol worshiping was very strong. People were very much indulged in idol worshipping. Guru Sahib here explained the meaning and power of NAAM. When the devotees tried to touch Guru Sahib's feet, they were surprised to see that Guru Sahib was pure light. The Imli tree had to cut to make way for New Building. A platform was raised at that place which is on ground floor of building.
