Gurudwara Shri Kodyala Ghaat Sahib, Babarpur

 

GURUDWARA SHRI KODHIWALA (KODYALA) GHAAT SAHIB is situated in village Babarpur, Teh Pallia Kalan Distt Lakhimpur Khiri, Uttar Pradesh. SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI came here while on his third udasi. GURU SAHIB reached here late night and no proper arrangement could be done, GURU SAHIB spent the night at the Fakir suffering from leprosy's hut where he performed kirtan and meditation. The kirtan brought solace to the fakir who, perhaps after many nights slept peacefully. In the morning, he begged GURU SAHIB to help and cure his disease. GURU SAHIB told him to bathe in the nearby pond. With the GURU SAHIB's blessings, the fakir bathed in the pond and his disease was cured. On hearing this, the villagers came to GURU SAHIB and begged forgiveness. GURU SAHIB told them to build a rest house for travelers here and it is at this site that the GURUDWARA SAHIB exists.
